From Backyard Obsession to a Flavour-First Revolution!

Born in the historic village of Pirbright, Surrey, the Big Ginger Sauce Company is a fiercely independent operation run by me - Pete (aka Big Ginge).

This venture wasn't built in a corporate boardroom; it was born from a lifelong obsession with chilli, spice, and the transformational power of heat and bold, vibrant flavours.

Years ago, it started with a few chilli plants in the garden and a fascination with how the right spice blend could completely redefine a meal. I spent countless hours tinkering with fresh ingredients, balancing aromatics, and pushing the boundaries of what a hot sauce could be.

Before long, my homegrown harvest exploded. I was making far more sauce than I could ever eat, so I started sharing it with friends, family, and neighbours. The rave reviews came instantly - and they haven't stopped! Those early backyard experiments slowly evolved into the multi-award-winning recipes I bottle today.

Flavour first. Fire second. No exceptions!

My philosophy is simple: hot sauce should enhance not overpower. Too many mainstream sauces on the market are entirely one-dimensional - just raw heat and minimal flavour. You will never find that here!

Every batch is hand-crafted in-house using carefully balanced ingredients, premium spices, and real aromatics to build multi-layered, nuanced profiles that elevate your meals.

Don't get me wrong - I love heat, and you will definitely find serious fire in my line-up. But even with my hottest sauces, the complex flavours always lead the charge, leaving you raiding the fridge for just one more splash!

The Mission!

Today, Big Ginger products are sold online, at prestigious events, and across a hand-selected network of independent farm shops and delis. But at its core our values haven't changed one bit: to bring real, uncompromised flavour to your table.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing people enjoy these sauces. Your feedback shapes what I brew next, so dive in, tell me what you think, and help us spread the word.

Love, BG x
